Let me preface this with an apology to Team 32 for not being on top of this as I should be, but I just had a very serious problem drop into my lap in my personal life. I'm not going to talk about it, but it is a major distraction for me.
That said:
Given that I didn't see a clearcut majority either way, I'm deciding that Team 32 will fold under the name T32monkeys. We'll go along with the stats from Stanford, but if there is a repeat of last year's glitch, we're going to have a problem with it.
Now, let's settle down and get our rigs ready for the challenge. I'd recommend that everybody who is going to join in with us to set their folding name to T32Monkeys 24 hours before the offical start time. Last year we spent too long ramping up production, so let us hit the starting line running full out. Remember, no WU hoarding, just steady folding.
If you aren't happy with my decision, I'm willing to step down and let someone else take over.
Lets do this and lets have FUN!!!!

The I7 Folding contest Will be put on hold exactly 24 hours before the chimp challenge starts. Anyone that still tries to fold for the i7 contest will find that their points will not count in the in the i7 contest stats until 24 hours after the end of the chimp challenge. This means that everybody currently participating in the I7 contest can participate in the Chimp Challenge without worrying about someone else getting the edge on them.

I think you made the right decision, torin. Even if only to keep the peace with the other teams involved. I hope we can get more people folding for T32monkeys this year. Its time to start working on our recruiting efforts. I know I will be pounding out the PM's once I get back to my home rig.

Because Zim folded 3.8 Million points for us - he was no "ringer". Macaholic has folded with us for years, on and off, over 4 Million points. He is also no "ringer".
You lost two years ago because BigToyota came over here and called Zim a "points *itch", and a "*ucktard", among other names. Zim naturally got fired up to knock BigT's team into the loser's bracket.

This year, your team Captain, that same "BigToyota" is still smearing us with this "ringer" lie, two years later, IN THE OFFICIAL CHIMP CHALLENGE thread on MaxPC.
Why? Is that any way for a host organizer to act?
He's also not following the written rules for the CC. Why?
Your loyalty is admirable, Dreaded, but the truth is, BigT doesn't know the difference between being a trashy talker, and being the respected host organizer of a multi-team event.
P.S. BTW I recall the spider_monkeys paying back other teams for their help in races, for many weeks, so the acting "holier than thou" doesn't work, at all. :p
Like MaxPC, we have invited other outside folders/teams to join us for the CC. Neither Zim nor Macaholic were one of them, but we invited some AOA'er members over, last year.
We have not invited anyone from outside to fold for us this year, however.
Myself, I would prefer that EVERY team, round up EVERY folder or team they can get to fold for them for the CC. I think that just adds more fun, and more buzz, to the whole race. Just my personal opinion, though.

I couldn't agree more. Things are starting to sound a bit childish at this point. Let's just let everything from the past go and just have a fun race this year. There are some things that I am very irritated about, but I am willing to let them go instead of making things worse. I don't want to see the ban hammer dropping like it has in the past.
Lets forget about the past years and get on with preparing to knock MaxPC into next Christmas :D

There would be no shame in losing to them, at all. They have done a mighty fine job of recruiting and getting their PPD and teams in order. Not to mention a lucky break on a blade server or three! Don't get me wrong, it would still suck, but they are out-producing everyone at this point!
