I have a RocketRAID 133 with 2 maxtor 40gb ATA133 hd's. What is the proper way to set these up to work the fastest? Does block size matter and how?

I only seem to be able to get about a 50mb sec transfer rate with the 2 in RAID 0. This isi slow right? What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

-----Moved post to General Hardware-----

That's about right for ATA133 RAID 0.

Block size should probably be ok at 64K for normal use. Larger if dealing with AV files.

ATA133 can only reach burst rates of up to 133MBps. Sustained throughput is quite a bit lower as you're seeing.

Not slow and you're doing nothing wrong.

For further reference, make sure you post in the proper topic. General Hardware is better suited for a post like this.

Thanks.
