ok, i came here because i honestly have no idea where else to start, save some searches on google but i figure you guys may be able to point me in the right direction or let me know how to do it.
OK now that i got that outa the way i have a Win2k machine and my little brother, as well as the rest of the family all have macs. I want to know how to set up a print sharing service between my win2k and my little brothers OSX.
Any ideas would be well appreciated

You're gunna need AppleTalk installed on your box, and the rest of the boxes for that matter, so they can all talk to eachother. After that, I would imagine that you just share out the printer.
I've never gotten AppleTalk to work, however.

yea i have apple talk installed but i dont for the life of me know how to work the bloody thing, it askes for a zone and i cant select anything or do anything from there... on both win2k and OSX, and os 9.1, and os 8.0. I have however gotten the OSX to work with my win2k box playin games and such usin TCP/IP and IPX. But i cant seem to do anything else but play diablo and starcraft and unreal tournament usin them.
You don't need to specify a zone for Appletalk. ZOnes are used when over 200 computers are on a network in order to keep traffic down. I've never had much luck with Appletalk services on win2k, I've always borrowed a license for PCMaclan from work. It's from miramarsys.com and there's a demo to try out. It will install on win2k and your networking will be exactly like a Mac, you'll see Appletalk devices, servers, and such.
Or you could get a network printer and give it an ip address and use LPR printing on all computers running win2k and OS X.

Ill try the PC Maclan idea because that sounds easy enough, one more thing though, id also like to get some sort of file sharing up between the two computers is this at all possible without added software or would i need something like PC Maclan to set it up?
File sharing is simple. On OS X just open System Preferences->Sharing->enable sharing.
Then, on the Win2k box you can open up network places and it should show up provided correct IP addressing.
