OKay, this may seem like a madly stupid question, but what better way to learn then by dumb questions? OK, back to the topic, can you put any other kind of Memmory into a DDR slot, other than DDR. Like regular SDRAM? JUst curious!

No question is a dumb question and you can only use 184 pin DDR memory.

Well drat! I'm gonna be putting together a new system soon, and I think DDR might be a bit expensive to buy. So I'm thinking ofjust getting an SDRAM board.

depending on the system you might just wanna go ddr, especally since I think alot of people forsee SDRAM going the way of the dinosaur from what I can tell, but that's just IMHUO( in my humblo uneducated opinion)

you could use a board that has both sdram and ddr sdram slots and upgrade when you can afford it.

Prices between Sdram and DDR ram arent that much different. I would just go with a DDR ram motherboard. The prices for the boards arent that much different and the performance of both types of ram on a motherboard arent as good.

I'm glad there's allways someone more knowledgeable than me around to insert intelligent comments when I spew out incorrect information. Allways handy :)

plus it makes me learn stuff too
