I know the GTX 295 takes two case slots, what about the others? EDITgtx 285 takes two as well it seems. What about ati's gpus and rest of nvidia's? I think a sticky should be made about this to make sure a person has enough open case slots.DOUBLEEDIT gtx260 is two slots also.

It looks as though you're answering your own question :) For ATi cards it depends on the manufacturer. If it's a reference designed 4870/90 it'll be 2 slots, but some 4870's don't vent out the back, the heatsink will take up 2 slots, but only 1 will be out the back. 4850's can go either way, again depending on manufacturer... if it's a reference cooler then it'll be single slot, but many are putting much larger coolers on them, and charging a premium.
All this information will be easily visible if you look at a picture of the card you're buying.

Yah, I doubt we need a sticky for this.
haha, dont think he was after sticky and if he was then sorry but this really is too vague a criteria as different manufactures all design their card different. As for my 4850, it takes up 2 slots :(

Be happy that you don't have the single slot reference cooler. Horrid thing.

Currently a couple of slots and also covers most your sata sockets is about the industry standard I think #Laughs#

Really?? I thought some of them were good. My friends powercolor 4850play gets to 90 degrees on a hot day after about 10 minutes and caused it to bluescreen and that is also on a dual. Oh wells, my cooler is pretty good, idle at 37 load at 67 :)
