Decided to check them out yesterday. Lurked on their auction pages for awhile, looking how bidding developed and what the final sale prices were, and it seems like there're some very nice deals to be had there.
I'm concerned with all the horror stories I've heard about them though (or any other auction site for that matter). Although they do have BBB Reliabilty Approval seal... Hmmm. What do you think, should I deal with them? Anybody here got screwed by them? Any hidden charges to watch out for?

eh?

I personally have had a great experience with them, I have gotten the following:
Lexmark E312 laser printer --123$
Sony Picturebook C1VPK--563$
Sony iLink 12x8x32 external cdrw--99$
Linksys PCMCIA 10/100 card--11$
Athlon XP 1600--120$(It was a very good price 2 months ago)
40 gig Maxtor hd--53$

I have gotten those with very fast delivery and good prices

P.S.they aren't paying me to advertise

I've bought a number of things through ubid. It's been a bit of a mixed bag experience. Some of the refurb stuff I've bought there has been fine (several pieces of stereo gear), some has not exactly lived up to my expectations. (Though in this respect ubid isn't significantly different than any other internet shopping experience.) The one thing you really have to watch is the shipping charge. They've been all over the map on shipping. Some items have perfectly reasonable shipping charges, others are blatant ripoffs. Just be sure you know how much shipping is going to be before you place your bid.

I have bought lots of stuff from ubid--but nothing lately. I've had no problems with them at all. I bought only new items (mostly HD's), however. I would go there to buy again.

I have gotten quite a few things from UBid. You kinda have to watch the prices just like any auction site. I see stuff selling for way more than it costs in stores. I actually got my current mobo free from UBid. They messed up and shiped me two of them and only charged me for one. They told me to mail back the other one and they were going to give me a $25 gift certificate. When I mailed it back they credited it back to my credit card. So I never complained much about not getting my $25 gift certificate. The price I was suppose to pay for my shuttle AK31 ver 2.0 was only $64. So you can get good deals on UBid if you are patient enough.

It seems like the only thing good about them is their prices, ya just gotta be careful, make sure you keep in contact with them the whole time, and don't let'em even attempt to rip ya off. If they have a BBB approval, they're probably ok.

the only problem is very slow shipping : it takes about 5 days for the item to go to suppliers warehouse

That, and the fact that the auctions don't end in time.
