That's odd. I just installed them on a friend's pc with a 9800GTX and RivaTuner works perfectly. I managed to get the fan speed up to 75%

Did you try reinstalling RivaTuner?

Tryed re-installing it twice from a fresh download.. (been thrashing stuff and getting a few hundred blue screens amongst the fun)
Time for a full re-install maybe or just clock down a minute and see if they take right.
as I say little bit of a mystery.

Vista 64 OS

I`ll run drivesweep and try it all one last time... but I think maybe I`ve corrupted some DLL`s or something like.

If it worked for you its probably my fight up to 425x9 FSB thats done the OS in.
didnt expect this install to live long concidering the suicide voltages and experiments #Chuckles#
Still getting there though :)

(Wish I had spotted the backup feature in the bios manual sooner... maybe next time)

Yeah that could very well be the issue. You stated in another thread your ram is acting up. You prolly corrupted some files during the install.

My suggestion: Downclock and run the ram at it's defualt speed, then try reinstalling the drivers & RivaTuner. Once you can that settled, then clock it back to where you had it.

agreed :)
Dont think the clocks have been the same from one boot to the next... got to learn somehow.

true though the 800 ram only lets you get so far to 4Ghz navarna #Laughs#

It will be flying and stable soon... can feel it in my bones:clap:

no rivatuner doesn't work with this release, at least it doesn't under vista 64

i have the same problem, searched around the net, and many other ppl has the same issue.

evga precision works for overclocking i suggest we use that in the meanwhile

like your post timing much!
EVGA precision (new one for me)

There are changes in the driver so the current Rtuner does not support it.
You can force the use of the driver and overclocking works fine after that.

Check power user tab, Under system set Force driver Version to 18585 also check that the hexadecimal display at the bottom is unchecked.

Guess thats the sensable approach.. one less background program to the collection :)

Riva Tuner didn't work for me either till I did this (takin from another site).

1. Open <Power User> tab
2. Press <Open database> button
3. Browse for RivaTuner.rtd database file (located in the application root folder)
4. Expand <System> node
5. Ensure that <Hexadecimal display> button is NOT pressed (otherwise 18585 will be treated as a hexadecimal value instead of decimal one)
6. Double click <ForceDriverVersion>
7. Enter 18585

Now it works great :).

I find EVGA precision much simpler to use in terms of overclocking, as most people don't need all the advanced settings found in RivaTuner.

Or just have forgotten all about what they do

Well apparently it's not that Rivatuner doesn't support it. I just installed an XP32 machine and Rivatuner detects 185.85 no problem. It must be either Vista and/or 64bit.

That makes it even more interesting, so some changes were vista/7 only. The previous driver was ok on 7 for me but had to force this one.

is there any official support for this yet or what? im still forcing 185.85 drivers. I'm sure an updated rivatuner release would provide better stability.
