i am currently running vista and ubuntu 9.04 on one 160g hdd. i want to completly wipe the hdd down to nothing and reinstall ubuntu. how do i do that. also, i have a 120g 3.5" hdd that is wiped and im trying to install ubuntu 9.04 on it as well. it starts up fine, then goes blank. nothing else. anyone know why.

if i'm not mistaken, when you try to install window(or any other os, just my assumption, b/c i only used window before), it will ask you to decide which drive to install the os on, or weather if you want to create a partition or now, during those steps, you can choose to delete all data on a drive

to my knowledge you cant reformat the drive when installing ubuntu like you can with windows

yes you can
ubuntu will show the hard drive space before you reformat
it will show the hard drive space after you reformat
