I've been messing around with ocing the card some more using rivatuner. What's weird is that if I try to clock the memory over 999mhz, my comp crashes and the screen just shows green vertical lines of varying shades. However, today I tried 1100mhz and it worked just fine:confused:
Another weird thing is that I have to oc the core clock first, hit apply, and then oc the memory. I can't change them both at the same time, and I can't oc the core after I oc the memory. If I do that, I get the green thing again. The last thing I noticed that gives me the green screen is if I lower the memory clock after I have overclocked it. Even if I try to lower it back to a frequency it normally is fine at i.e. stock speed.
Any idea what could be the cause of this? It's not unique to rivatuner either. I had the same issues when OCing with both ccc and smartdoctor.

Sound's like wonky drivers to me. Try uninstalling and driver sweeping them and reinstalling.

I thought it might have been a driver issue. Tried reinstalling the drivers but still have the problem. Looks like catalyst 9.5 comes out tomorrow with 4770 support, so maybe that'll fix it.

You are using XP I presume? The drivers on XP don't work right.

Yeah, using XP64. Do you know if 9.5 will work with it?
Yes I also read in a review about Asus HD4890 GDDR5 not running at 1075 but stable at 1100 . I dont know, but why would ATi mind overclocks on a 4890 (the high-end product) I guess this has something to do with GDDR5 used(Qimonda ?)
EDIT: Oh , and IIRC 4770 uses the same GDDR5 that 4890 uses which is rated at 1.0 ns --> 1000Mhz . Its weird your crashes at 999

I've heard that the new driver will fully support the HD4770, but can't say for sure. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't though.
