howdy all,

Can you guys direct me to where I can find out what type of core a specific CPU has? I.E., I want to look up what is a Coppermine, what is a Tualatin, or whatever other codenames there are out there. I'm not very familiar with the differences between these terms and I need to bone up...

Thanx,

G

Intel's the best source. Their charts tell nearly all.

Specs for Intel P3 processors (http://support.intel.com/support/processors/sspec/p3p.htm) - Anything 1.133GHz and over is Tualatin.

Specs for Intel Celeron processors (http://support.intel.com/support/processors/sspec/icp.htm)

It's a little like connecting the dots, because speeds / core sometime overlap, meaning the same speed 500 mhz P3 may have 2 different cores, etc.

Then we'll say that anything with a 't' as the leftmost character of the stepping is a Tualatin. The rest requires more in-depth reading.
