So i've been looking at sterling silver rings, and found some good prices and cool rings here:

http://www.sterlingsilverjewelry4u.com/

so i placed an order on monday, and my card was never charged (weird that the merchant didn't ask for CRV #?) it is supposed to be shipped by priority mail. anyways, i got a confirmation email, but nothing in the mail and when i call their phone it says leave a message. i haven't gotten an email that its shipped or anything so i'm starting to worry.. how can i tell if its legit?

this bothers me too, their is another website that almost looks the exact same:
http://www.1stop-silver-rings-jewelry.com/

should i be worried? what should i do ???
if this is a scam, they can't do much with my CC # without my CRV thing

From the looks of that site it looks like its one of those nigerian scammers, you can always cancel the charge. My brother fell for this before lol

that site has been registered since 2001....so I doubt its a scam

^good point. well we'll see what happens. but they are in california and i'm in california and i was just starting to worry that I wasn't gonna get anything. should i just sit on it?

It doesn't look like a legit website but it could just be a poorly done one - plenty of those out there, including many from legitimate, large corporations. I must say I would never use my CC at a site like that. The owner of that site owns dozens of domains at least based on some quick research.

Plenty can be done without the CV number. Many websites and nearly all phone/catalog companies will take orders without the CV. Many will ship to any address you specify also, regardless of whether it is a ship-to or billing address tied to the card, including Amazon.

Now with all of that said, this may just be some poorly run business and not necessarily a scam. On the other hand, your CC #, name and address could end up on a list somewhere. It's up to you how to proceed but you are protected by your credit card company from fraudulent charges as long as you report them within a reasonable amount of time.

^ok, well if i don't get the shipment in another week i'll have to figure something out. but hopefully i don't have to go through scam hassle.

btw sorry for me saying CC, its a debit card...

CHKCARDTHE SILVER CONNPALM SPGS CAUS

i guess i'll be looking for it in the mail??

hopefully,

personally for me, if a website looks like crap, i dont even think about shopping there, any serious buisness should have a professional website, and answer emails and phone calls, if you get it i would follow up with them and maybe post on the BBB website about their lack of communication.

yeah i know, it was just the prices that pulled me in obviously, so it didn't truly cross my mind. but yeah paying a lil extra for better service and all too. whats the BBB website?

i laugh, in costa rica, alot of companies use gmail or the local ISP email address for buisness, one massive real estate poster on the road, the person has a hotmail address listed, like come on people! spend what.. maybe $10 a year to get a proper email address that is just a little more professional..
