From my log:

[18:44:44] - Shutting down core

Dunno how to fix it....Makes my fahcore stop. Anyone know a solution?

Sometimes the VM will reach maximum HDD space when writing Backups the first issue is a known common fault and can be ignorred,
But you can delete the backup file if getting to large and it we replace with new one next backup time also have the backup time set to 30/60mins

And have you allowed Administration rights to VMPlayer

Has anyone noticed that when you run NotFreds, the HD light blinks just for a 1/5th of a second, but it does this every second or so?

I was shocked at how often the light was just lightly blinking!

I would ignore it except it shuts down my core and then dumps my work unit....

To delete work folder do this... log into the VM as root

Log in = root PW = No Password Required

How do I delete a WU in process??? And the FAH download a new WU.

UPDATED: I delete the WU in process with commands below:

# rm -f /etc/folding/1/work/*_01*
# mount -n -t vfat /dev/hda1 /hda
# rm -f /hda/folding/1/work/*_01*
# umount /hda
# reboot -f

The VM restart, FAH not found work files and donwload a new WU.

I had a similar problem yesterday with one of mine... I just gave it a quick reboot (just the VM, not the host machine) and it's been back to Folding ever since... errors were similar but I don't remember specifically and the logs are now gone I believe, have to double check and see if the FAHlog-prev.txt file is there.

Also, this is after many, many days of error free Folding, so it may just be a longevity issue with notfred's... I actually prefer a Standard Ubuntu install but I keep a couple notfred's running to test compatibility with HFM. :)

Well i can say from personal experience that running notfreds on a machine where you need to stop/start it is just a bad idea. Unless the rig is dedicated, you cannot avoid losing work units. Something I noticed is every 3rd or 4th suspend I lose my work unit. Or, I can shut down the vm and randomly I will lose my work unit. Sometimes it works, other times it does not. I have heard that you are supposed to suspend, not power off vmware, but I still lose work units either way. Very frustrating.

I've also experienced this... that's why I went back to (for the most part) my home-baked Ubuntu VMs. Again, I run a couple for testing purposes. Heck, I've even got a couple Standards running now just to test core compatibility with HFM... the darn thing is consuming most of my free time that the gf doesn't get. :D
