I have an HP'OEM Asus Motherboard

I was thinking of trying to flash it to a standard "generic" Asus BIOS.

Is there any way to "force" this? Would it be worth it?

Dont do it! it may be possible but don't do it! I recently killed a Abit IP-95 board doing this. ECS had a board that was identicle, or atleast I read on a few sites it was and it certainly looked identicle. I wanted to O/C my CPU but the Abit version of the board had a BIOS witch was useless at O/Cing. The ECS version had many more O/Cing options so I decided to use the "force" option of the flash utility to change the BIOS to the ECS version. after what looked like a successful flash the PC rebooted and just hung at POST after detecting the drives. Tried resetting the CMOS to no effect. It could work with your board as your trying to flash with a BIOS from the same manufacturer but it's still VERY risky.
