ECS BLACK SERIES X58B-A

Does anyone have any experience with the ECS Black Series X58B-A?



I've been looking around for reviews and while none of them say it is a bad motherboard, a few (bit-tech, guru3d) do mention the BIOS is somewhat lacking and that at that stage it was not an enthusiast board.

Have the BIOS issues been resolved? I saw on the TPU forums someone said they raised the bclk to ~225, which while nowhere near Classified or Bloodrage numbers is respectable, especially for a $170 after MIR motherboard. The poster was, however, using WC... so, is anyone who owns this board able to vouch for its stability/overclockablity?

I'd play it on the safe side and go with an ASUS or GIGABYTE.

Well, ECS hasn't exactly been know for there great overclocking boards. Anyone who has them on the forums uses the for cheapo builds (read: no overclock)

IF you are on a tight budget, by all means go with the ECS board, but on a budget and i7 are kind of mutually exclusive
