My friend selling GeForce2 Ultra 64MB. I need some info on it, 3DMark scores.
Thanks.

With your rig I'd say you'd probably get 5000-6000 3dMarks.

Although it's DDR ram correct?

It is a very good card, although how much though?

better than 2ti and pro and worse than any 3.

It's not DDR, and he want 140 for it. Is it good?

GeForce2 Ultra's are DDR so double check on what he is selling you! My GeForce2 Ultra overclocks to gpu270/mem500. This results in a 3DMark2001 of a little over 5000 with a TBird @ 1.5gig.

I just got a Radeon 8500 and it really kicks I think if I were you I would check the prices on the 7500 or the LE instead of spending $140 on a GF2.

NO HES RIPPING YOU OFF :(

if hell give it to you for 115$ then its a good deal but a Geforfe3Ti200 or a Radeon 8500LE is a much better deal for 15$ more than you wanted to spend on the Ultra......

I have almost the same rig as you and am getting a little over 5000marks with my gf2 ultra

better than 2ti and pro and worse than any 3.

I wouldnt say that

gf2 get really good 3dmark2k benchmarks and gf3 dont

that is a little rich for a gf2 ultra
I would take it for $100 but nothing more

All GeForce2 Ultras are DDR, the chipset doesn't support SDR. He's peobably trying to sell you a GeForce2 GTS or GF2 GTS Pro, which can be SDR. Don't buy it, get it from a reputable place on Pricewatch (http://www.pricewatch.com/1/37/2814-1.htm).

Edit: Oh yeah, and beware of crappy brands. No PowerColor, no PNY, no eVGA. Stay with Gainward, Visiontek, Asus, Elsa, 3D Power, or another good brand.

I agree with Funny , if you can buy for $115 or so then it is a good deal otherwise spend a bit more and get a G3 Ti200 or OEM Radeon 8500.

Another thought is a retail Radeon 7500 if you can find for less than $120 Powermagic does offer one with the same clk/mem speed as ATI's retail 7500. It also comes with 4 ns ddr ram.

As you can see by my sig, I get over 5000 and this is with a slower cpu than what was quoted above for Ultra score ( not sure if that score is ddr based solution) I will get higher soon as I have more time to tinker LOL!!

The 7500 is not as fast as a G3 Ti200 but it is pretty much equal to G2 Ti200's and a hair slower than a Ultra but once overclocked it does have some advantages at higher res's

One bonus is it offers TV out at 1024x768 HDTV and great dvd hardware support with very good 2 D as well.

Hope this helps

My gf2 ti scores 5720 3dmarks when I OC to the max 255/527. This is basically this year's model of GF2 ultra, although it actually performs a little worse (1% or so) than the true GF2 ultra, which I believe is last year's model. These cards cost around $100-$120 while ultra's go for upwards of $150. I'd just get a brand new GF2 Ti or Ati Radeon 7500 for around or a little more than $100 if you can't talk your friend down in price some. Or if your willing to spend more, get a GF3 Ti 200. Make sure that your pal's card is really an ultra, too. Maybe he could run 3dmark2001 and you can view the system info from there and also compare his score to similar cpu's with the same card.

Stock scores for an ultra at your cpu's speed are probably aound 5000 give or take, and with the card OC'd you should get close to 6000. There's a simple mod in order to improve the image quality of geforce cards, if you're interested. Or you could get a Radeon 7500, though thier 3dmark scores are generally lower than GF2 Ti's.

Thanks all. I'm going to buy Radeon 8500, but I just needed to know about that card.

Pretty much every review I have seen using identical systems shows the 7500 posting higher 3D MArk2K1 scores and the Ultras posting slightly higher framerates but not nearly as good graphics detail. Yes there is a mod to improve visual quality on the Geforce cards but not everyone is willing to risk loss of their card.
