hi people:) i got a question, say, in general people would agree that keeping your ram at 222 is better than a few hundred mhz, but what'z the reasonable tradeoff? and does it mean if your ram only does 222 at default, then you are stocked in the default speed forever? i know some people would say, "get a better ram," what if the problem is your board instead of your ram, and you REALLY like the board? thanks:D

In my experience keeping the ram at CL2 with a little lower FSB will yield much better performance than higher timings with higher FSB's. Although this has been different for some people, so the only way to really know for sure is to try it yourself.

i understand what you say, for i have same kind of experience, although not always.. ok, let me put it this way, a rig with cas2 133, or cas3 155, two options, which one will be faster? i cannot try them now, all my cpus and boards are either on their way to my door, or in the trash can:D

133 & 155 is quite a difference for PC133. That would probably be close. I never played around much with CL3 PC133 ram, though, so I can't really comment on which will be faster. I would just say to try both when you get it because that's really the only way to know for sure. With my DDR ram, I could hit 185MHz with CL2.5, but it was outperformed with CL2 and 160MHz. My guess would be the CL2, but again, I can't really say for sure.
