View Full Version : SetiSpy keeps CLI alive when comp is shut down!

Aie! My mom's comp runs setispy and the CLI whenever the comp is on (almost always.) But, whenever the comp goes to shut down, it tells me that the CLI is still running, and windows can't shut it down by itself.
How can i make it so that the CLI closes as the comp shuts down, so windows dosn't yell and scream at me? It's my biggest cruncher too, Tbird 1.33@1.47!
If i can't get it fixed, i have to take SETI off, and that's definitely not good for the team!

Stick this file in C:\Windows (unzipped, though)
Go into the SETISpy setup and set the CLI to close on SETISpy exit. It's a check box. That should clear it up.

Err... that "_default.pif" file just extracts as a link... And it didn't solve the problem.
Neither did that check box...
How about deleting the directory re-download Seti spy and re set it up carefully reading the instructions to be sure?
Could be just a misconfig or a bad file I'm not too sure.

I'm having the same problem on one Machine running 98se, ok on the two 2k machines.
Even tried using the seti folder from my main comp.

Ahh, this machine i'm having trouble with is a 98se, maybe that's why it's not being happy

Found the solution here (http://pages.tca.net/roelof/setispy/faq.htm) in section 2.14
In case anyone else has the same problem

It just looks like one when you extract it...it's really a .pif file. FYI, since it didn't help anyway (you do have to restart for it to work, don't know if you did or not, but glad you got it working however you did :)).
