You can run it, but not at 2000 Mhz. It will be underclocked. If you decide to do some tweaking and cool the NB/SB, you could get it to run 2000 Mhz. But that would be, in all reality, an extreme overclock.
 
are you sure glow? i thought the mem controller was on the chip not the NB. I also thought mem multipliers were unlocked so you could select the speed you wanted.

They are not underclocked and Jediman is correct the mem controller on the core i7 is on the chip.
