2000 Mhz DDR 3 on Asus Extreme II

Can i run 2000 mhz ddr 3 on asus extreme II?? It says only 1800 mhz is allowed?

6GB DDR3-2000+ is no problem on the Rampage II.

You can run it, but not at 2000 Mhz. It will be underclocked. If you decide to do some tweaking and cool the NB/SB, you could get it to run 2000 Mhz. But that would be, in all reality, an extreme overclock.

are you sure glow? i thought the mem controller was on the chip not the NB. I also thought mem multipliers were unlocked so you could select the speed you wanted.

???...Wrong!

Here is the kit I run:

They are not underclocked and Jediman is correct the mem controller on the core i7 is on the chip.
