I bought my MoBo in March last year and it is still under Asus 1year manufacturer warranty.
It broke down last month and I shipped back to the computerHQ (the place I bought it from).
They received the package, but when I called’em, they told me that they’d sent it back to ASUS and I ... need to wait two weeks before they get it back. It doesn't sound right to me somehow...
So I am curious, if any of u guys have had such experience and what is the regular procedure for replacing hardware bought over the Internet.

Varies from store to store. Some stores will just replace what you sent them with their stock, others will wait until it gets RMAed by the manufacturer so the don't get screwed in the even that it's a sucker RMA that won't be accepted by the manufacturer. Might wanna check the site you purchased it from, and see if they have an FAQ, or info about returns.

I've had so many bad experiences with mail order/internet purchases, that I don't buy from them anymore. I've found a decent local store, its costs are the same , some lower, some higher than the national www companies, no delivery charges, and a guy who KNOWS what he's talking about (he's also an OCr)

If something goes wrong, and its obvious that its a dead/faulty part, like RAM or a HD, he changes immediately. If its suspect, (like a smouldering chip with water droplets on it ) he send it back to the manufacturer for evaluation and warranty repair/replacement. I wonder how many guys know that the manufacturer of the mobos does not have to replace them if faulty, they can repair them. Most large mobo companies have large automated production lines, but they also have techs, working next to the lines doing repairs.

Stick with and support your local store

I have a friend with the same type of problem. He got his replaced in 2 days with no questions asked. So it is possible to find an internet store that is also not going to f**k arounf with u. I just never had any hardware going down while on warranty before. So, I don't think i'll ever gonna buy stuff from computerhq again.
About the local store, I don't think wwws would've had any business if the prices were the same.
No shipping, but u pay tax.
Also, I got screwed with the MoBo, cause bestbuy stopped selling'em. Otherwise I could've just "borrow" it from them for couple of weeks until i get mine back.

I RMA'd an ASUS board not too long ago...overnighted it to them, they overnighted it back. Whole thing took 4 days.

Your warranty is 3 years, and deal directly with ASUS if you can.....just be prepared to sit on hold for 45 mins or so.

I couldn't find a phone number there in ASUS to get a hold of a person to talk to. What's the phone#?

I'm sitting here without my comp 4 three weeks now :(

That's the way to do it. My friend is still waiting for his RMA return from Asus on his A7V. Since he sent it out, he's managed to...
Use an Aopen board he got from our RMA dept. (which is where he works), for 2 weeks. Wasn't satisfied with the performance, and got a PIV, and and Asus P4T-E. Another two weeks and he upgraded the memory. He's still waiting for an RMA return from Asus. Normally they will ship back an RMA return in a few days, but this is the time of year where there's a serious shortage of stock for RMA returns.
