itd be a good deal for the WD 1.5 green drives for sure...
Not to bring down the OPs post....but yeah I got a few of the 1.5 Seagates a few months back and just had to get rid of them didnt want to take the chance...and I also ordered them from Dell...crappy horrible customer service (had a few issues with the drive and other billing stuff), would never deal with Dell.com again after that.

I thought with firmware revision the problems were fairly well fixed?

So far as I can tell it is. It is the reputation they received before it was corrected that is killing them. Mine have been great but their are plenty of people with dead drives and lost data that will tell you otherwise. That said, if I hadn't just bought a new TV I would be all over these. $.15/GB, yes please but proceed at your own risk. At this point they are likely just trying to clear them out so they can be replaced with 7200.12's.

Well it's not just the firmware, for 7200RPM drives Seagate hasn't been competitive in all around performance since they were on top with the 7200.10 and ever since WD came out with the WD6400AAKS and other drives with 334GB platters. Of course the only other drives over 1TB are WD Greenpowers but even they aren't bad.

I can see it on newegg or amazon;
Customers who bought this 1.5TB Seagate also bought Vista :burn:

2 of 3 i got were fine (they both had at the time the cc1j firmware the other had cc1h) all the people i sent mine off to said they were fine without a problem, so its probably nothing too much to be concerned with but definitely keep a lookout ..and thats for really any drive too.

$0.067/GB (Less than 7 cents/GB)

You did your division backwards.

Well I went in for two. Thanks for the heads up. I've been looking for cheap drives. I'll be sure to update to the latest firmware.
