View Full Version : how do i unclock my tbird?

i just got my system all set up and i am anxious to overclock. but i have heard that you have to unclock the tbird. how do i perform this?

u need to connect all the L1 bridges with #2 pencil or something conductive (ex: before :::: after llll) maybe someone else will post with a real pic but for now do u understand?

Okay, the first thing to do is to make sure that it is even locked. A lot of the T-birds come unlocked now a days. If it is locked then you can unlock it using a conductive paint...but with the T-birds its just easier to use a #2 pencil and a steady hand. Just check out the picture below and you can get the idea. Just as a general disclaimer..you do this all by yourself..I just let you know how...and secondly, I give credit for the pictures to www.iamnotageek.com (I couldn't find any better place with better pictures :D)...the editing was all me though.

alright i understand the pencil trick. but is that all you have to do to unlock a tbird

cause i found out at tomshardware to unlock an XP you have to first fill in the pits AND then use a conductive material

is this where tbirds and XP differ in unlocking?

yes.. xps have pits tbirds dont so there is nothing u need to fill on tbirds just connect the dots :)
