Ok i got the 3 files listed on the ocseti page and try to follow the instructions listed on the page i get to
11.) Click on the "transmit" button (if you get an error window at this point, choose "ignore")
i dont get an error but i dont get to do the either
12.) A DOS window (the CLC or command line client) will open entitled "SETI 1 - Transmit"
13.) In the DOS window, enter "1" or "2" (depending on your status)
14.) Enter the email address you registered for SETI with
i dont get the "a blue radio telescope icon running in the system tray" either what am i doing wrong???
can anyone clear this up for me
thanks
Are you sure you followed the instructions?
The ignore thing, is when opening SetiSpy for the first time nothing to do with SetiDriver.
When you click Transmit on SetiDriver it should open a dos window and from there you should get the 1 or 2 open etc.

Without transmitting your account info to the Seti Database the Telescope won't turn blue.

Hey,
Step 1 is to uninstall all previous SETI versions.
Make sure you check the directory, to make sure all the files are gone. I removed all files in the "c:\program files\seti@home\" directory, including SetiSpy, and Seti Driver, before installing them in my machines. This will give you a "clean slate" to begin with.
Then, go ahead and follow the directions, step by step. You should have no problem at doing it this way.

step 1 register
step 2 download clc
step 3 run clc from command prompt
step 4 option is 1 and 2 comes up
if you made a account then press 2 and type in e-mail and your done.. i don't use nothing but the clc no driver or nothing else.. just run the command and -verbose after your set..
you must be connected to the internet in order to transmit

M00CH the instructions are brief to transmit.
You first open Seti Driver.
Make sure Maximum Processes is: 1
Desired Cache is: 1
Make sure all these are checked after:
Hide Processing
Auto Transmit
Prioty - Normal
Use Seti Driver
Then save config - important.
Then click transmit, you have 3 files; SetiSpy, SetiDriver, and CLC in the folder right?

When you are in the SETIDriver windows you should seen a yellow or red radiotelescope at your taskbar. After you have open it you need to click into New Client. A Select client windows should appear (this is a normal file tocatin window). At that window you need to select setiathome-3.03.i386-winnt-cmdline.exe so you have joined SETIDriver to the clc. If you have autotransmit on the taskbar icon should chang to a green radiotescope that is pointing to the right.....and as you don't have a user_info.sah file you should be prompted to configure an existing account or a new account.
i finally got it to go to the dos window to setup an account.. had to make a new one for some reason it wont accept the one i allready have, but anyhow after i get the account set up and it tries to get data it says cannot connect to server... this sucks...
I think SETI is down right now

Down it is.....ohhh.....well it hasn't been down for a long time almost 3 months. I hope it's just a traffic jam or something, and not a server problem down berkeley.
M00Ch when you login to an existing account make sure you aren't using capitals in your emails it happened to me before :D
And yes Seti seems to be down... Goodies I put my cache to 5 :D

I'm not too sure.
