View Full Version : It's ALIVE!!!!!!
YES!!!!
Finally got my board back. My partially lapped heatsink is on, no thermal paste. Booted up. Went straight to 1.5 (125fsb) with dividers at 1/4. Voltage at 1.6. Booted up fine. Went to motherboard monitor. I see 30c for cpu and it's stable :D hahahahah, this is so awesome. I'll be lapping some more tomorrow and will apply some arctic silver ii once I jack some my friend.
So happy=) :D :D :D
Strange thing though, my rmaed board wasn't even repaired or replaced. They said it was fine. Whateever,
you should not have your CPU running very long without thermal paste or at least a thermal pad. if you need to just go to radio shack and pick up a tube of heat sink compound for $2
Hmmmm, this is my temp at load right now. I just applied some arctic silver ii on my partially lapped heatsink. CPU temps range from 32-33c.

Is it suppose to be this low??? I'm not use to these low temps just yet.

Those temps aren't bad. I idle at 33-34 @1.75v using a Glaciator II.
Good to hear that you seem to have it all sorted out now Bonka!!
Good luck!

Those are good temps for a Tualatin.
About what I get for both mine with the default sinks.
I got a mutant now with a .50amp 7000rpm fan out
of a Dragon Orb 3 screwed to a coolermaster aluminum
hs. Got temp at 28c at full load, 25c at idle. (19c in the room)
This is at 128fsb, 1.50v with a 1.1A
Thanks guys. I'll see if my temps go down any further with more lapping :)

yea..lapping will do more good than anything else..:D ok, maybe not EVERYTHING, but lets just say, a well lapped sk6 is on par with a freaking expensive swiftech... after 40 min of lapping on my gladitor, temp drops 2C..cannot imagine if do the whole set from 400~1500..come people, let's get lapping!!
I'll be lapping some more tonight. Anyways, I was wondering why my idle and load temps vary so little? Is it the nature of how Tualatin's perform? Perhaps I need to reapply that asii or I need more lapping? Here are my load temps right now burning in for several hours (case open)

Must be the chips. My load temp only goes up about 3C from my idle temp.
