I have several heat sinks for skt 775's(eg: Scythe Ninja) that have back plates and thru-bolt to mounts on the topside of the motherboard. I have not yet gotten a skt 1366 motherboard, and was wondering if such skt 775 heat sinks could be used?

1366 has a wider hole pattern. I had to get a new 1366 back plate to get my Ultra 120 ex on.

scythe has 2 different types of mounting brackets for S1366. You can buy em for like 7 bucks for either of em. I actually used one set (2 separate bracket set) to mount my S775 waterblock on 1366.

I think there are a couple of X58 motherboards that have mounting holes for both 1366 and S775 heatsinks.

I got a Zalman adapter in order to use my CNP9500 on my i7. Newegg sells them for like $5.00

the asus i7 board i have has both lga775 and lga1366.... i got to re-use my rev-A Ninja....
