So I finally decided to go with linux, I took a blind step of faith, backed everything up and nuked my vista and xp installations. I now have a computer that is running Linux Mint 6 x64 which I would like to use to share media to my xbox360 and my roomies desktop but I am not sure of the best way to do this. I realize I did this before I was properly versed and prepared to be running linux as my default OS but hindsight it 20/20. lol
So I was thinking of going with a uPNP setup but through linux it seems to be a lot of effort for a lot of security risk involved with that option, hence why windows uses it. My next thought was to try running WMP inside wine and see if that works but again the same security limitation. So I am wondering if there would be another alternative and if not do you have any recommendations for the best way of doing a uPNP network?
