Hi, I hope someone is awake and can solve this....

First, everything was working fine until after downloading this driver for this wireless mouse and keyboard. It's 2000 compatible. After restarting, there's no pointer upon booting.

Then, I went to safe mode ....and the pointer isnt there again.

After that, I have uninstalled the program for the wireless.....still no pointer.

What gives? plz help on this.

i dont think i can help u but i would try to start the system with no mouse. unplug it and try starting it in safe mode. then you remove any driver its installed for the pointer devices, you know, into the device manager and turn the computer off, plug the mouse and start it again.

try downloading and reinstalling the MS intellipoint drivers this should reset your old mouse , t
hen after you get your old mouse back
go to the hardware manager and uninstall the old mouse.
shut down and plug in the new mouse and reboot and
then select: have disk to install the newly IDed mouse,
hope this works, also you may have to blow the wireless mouse out of your regestry befor you can get a new clean install of it.

you can also try to boot in safe mode and open your device manager. look into the mpuse and other pointing devices if there is no more than only one driver installed. there should be only one for the mouse. if there r more than one youll need to choose one to remove - you can also try to remove all the drivers you find out there. its possible that the driver(s) youll find there will have something like a coloured icon before the name, what mostly means that its not properly working. id try to remove all the drivers and reboot the system in normal mode. i think then youll get a chance to reinstall the proper drivers.
