View Full Version : Samsung vs. Samsung
I'm about to purchase a 40inch LCD TV to be used as a monitor for my PC, PS2 & PS3 mounted on my racing cockpit. I am thinking on the LA40A650 or the LA40B650. Your thoughts please.
I have an LNA46A650 (46" version). I absolutely love it. I do not know about the B version, though. What are the differences?
With that being said, I have tried to use my sammy as a monitor but I haven't been able to quite get it (or my video card) set up correctly. I think my 8800GT is set for 1900 x 1200, but the TV is 1900 x 1080 and even though the computer correctly identifies the TV's resolution, it seems that there is some scaling because it's just a bit fuzzy looking. However, I didn't spend a whole lot of time adjusting it because it is such a hassle getting behind the TV and reconnecting cables (I tried both the VGA ports and HDMI with varying results). Besides the hassle of connecting cords, there is the distance problem--my room isn't set up so the computer (and it's wires) are far enough away from the screen for comfortable viewing.
Slightly better "Game Mode",stronger default AMP setting & different bezel as far as I can tell. There is a $200 difference in my country with the newer B being more expensive.
Try it on HDMI port 2,edit the port name to PC & things should sort things out for you. Some blurb from some site.
I bought a ToC T260HD instead. I decided against the 40" & saving the difference.
What really buggs me now is that I got to switch off the ambient/ToC light at the bottom & now I can't get it back. Help:confused::shrug::bang head

Not to send you away from here, but is there anything at avsforums.com?
Tried there & its a question that mostly gets ignored from the threads I searched.
