 Well, Im curious whether IM really runnning at 500 MHZ now instead of 333, the computer boots up and says 500 MHZ, I adjusted the signal on the CPU Softmenu from 66 to 100 also.
Every now and then I have a hang or Fatal Exception error on shutdown, I had this b4 OC though, anyone have any idea what this could be from? I guess lots of things huh? Anyway, I have only 64 MB of ram, would adding more make a significant improvement in speed of software (graphics, dig pics etc)?
The computer doesnt seem much faster than before and at 66.6% (nice # ehhh?, it comes up all the time in my life, scary huh)
it seems like it would be very noticeable. FSB is @ 100MHZ multiplier is locked @ 5. SDRAM is PC100. What can I do to accelerate this machine a little? I thought OC would work wonders, but there is a restriction somewhere I think. (my wallet!)
LOL, Thanks for all your help in advance !
Wiresman....P.S. my CPU Temps are below 40C

DL WCPUID to check your speed. http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA002374/src/download.html

Stability problems are probably from the FSB OC. Can you control Vcore through BIOS? If so, boosting it a little may improve stability but keep a close eye on temps.

Vcore is at 2.03 - 2.05 right now, it was defaulted at that with the 333a. Will it be O.K. to add more voltage? Is this considered high volt for CPU?,
Thanks in Advance....Wiresman

You could try a voltage setting of 2.1v or maybe even 2.2v if your cooling is good. That's what I'd look at next, trying to improve cooling. The shut down trouble could be an operating system problem. Seems like there is a Windows update or patch for that sort of problem, if I remember correctly.

Does this happen only at clocked speeds?

If it doesn't then it maybe internal within Windows as Win 98 had alot of Shut Down problems and they developped a shut down supplement which you should get.

If its only happening when your clocked then its probably stablity and take batboy's upping the vcore.

Done it ever since I had the computer, especially when it would go into sleep mode, I disabled it because of that and started shutting it down everyday. i will try the windows patch first I forgot that I installed Win 98 SE over Win 98 and never checked for updates....duhhhh. Thanks again. Wiresman

Its generally best to disable all power management features in OS and in bios.
