So in the last year at least Wii has pretty much gotten Gamecube ports for it's game library but with Motion PLus! Yippiee...
Punch Out: Which I hear is incredibly short and features only 1 new character.
Pikman: Gamecube Port
Metroid: Just a bundle of already released games.
New Super Mario Bros: just announced
...so now they're porting DS games to Wii!? I mean all the gamecube porting is ridiculous because....hello! Wii plays Gamecube games, and now to port hand held games to a console it's like they're not even trying anymore.
It's no wonder I moved to a new place a month ago and have had no desire to unbox my Wii.
EDIT: ok I will admit I haven;t been keeping up with E3 news..and Metroid: Other M looks pretty cool...Team Ninja should be a sweet partner.

clearly it works, cause they sell like hot cakes, i never had a gamecube, i have a DS, but why not port, if people buy them, good for Nintendo.
Now, new games would be nice...

I'm not doubting the business side of it....if people are buying it up..yeah it's brilliant...I just want fresh new games

The problem in the industry is that the general public wants what they had before. Just check out the top selling games for each of the consoles, Halo, Call Of Duty, Grand Theft Auto, Metal Gear Sold, Gran Turismo, Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Guitar Hero or they have the word Mario in the title.
I actually like the new punch out, along with the wii controls, but I also only get around 5-10hrs a week in for gaming so a short game doesn't seem as short to me.
Miyamoto did say something about the new Zelda for wii being different

The next console Zelda adventure will feature a Link who is more mature than ever before, and a swordplay system that is far more advanced than any ever seen before in the series. The game may ship as a MotionPlus-only design, as well, which should give you an idea of the swordfighting scheme Shigeru has in the works.

If this is true, I'm picking one up.
