View Full Version : I dont understand this one
check out this screen shot.. Its the new Sandra 2002. I basically have the third reference chipset (KT266A, PC2100, CL2, and an effective XP1900). Well look at my scores..whats up? My RAM is set to turbo, CL2 as you can see in the shot. Any ideas why it basically sucks so bad?
Did you do fresh boot before running the test?
I just rebooted and ran the test first thing. I also turned on 4-way interleave.
1530/905.... still kinda disappointing with my RAM settings and a 142mhz bus..... who knows
Probably some other bios settings need tweaking.
Try
System Performance: Turbo
2) DRAM Clock: 133 Mhz
3) DRAM Timing: Manual
4) SDRAM Cycle Length: 2
5) Bank Interleave: 4 Bank
6) DRAM Burst Lenght: 8 --> Not stated in manual. This option only available with bios 8khi1a17 (10/17/2001) and 8khi1b02 (11/02/2001) and above. try to set this to 8 and bench and set to 4 and bench again. Set to the highest bench results.
7) DRAM PreChrg to Act CMD: 2T
8) DRAM Act tp PreChrg CMD: 6T
9) DRAM Active to CMD: 2T
10) DRAM Queue Depth: 4 Level
11) DRAM Drive Strength: Auto (Default Auto is 4)
12) DRAM Command Rate: 1T
13) DCLKI/O Timing: Leave it at default setting
14) Fast R-W Turn Around: Enabled
15) Continuos DRAM Request: Enabled
it was all setup just like that, except for the burst length. I changed it to 8 and got the same thing... hmmmmmmm
From what I see people are getting about 2100/2000 with that board and those settings at 143mhz.
Maybe check your irq's for sharing *shrugs*.
ok, bumping this up because I discovered some new crap.
I changed to 10x150 to see if I could up the scores with a better fsb....hardly. with this setup, I get 1078/605. What is going on!? I'm gonna try it at 133 to see if a higher fsb is actually hurting me.
Edit: OMG, at 10x133 I get 1460/899. Still not good, but a lot better than 10x150. I have no clue what the problem is. My memory seems to hate higher fsb.
