Can the mb be swapped out with a new board, thereby updating the cpu/mb? 700 mhz is driving me nuts.

From what I know, there's no such thing as buying a new motherboard for a laptop.

In most laptops the motherboard also contains the GPU unless if its MXM.
 
all you can do is see what processors your model was able to take and swap the cpu out ( they are very cheap used) .the motherboards are different in every laptop. you would never be able to get a different model to fit. you could always buy a replacement though. incredably few have removable video cards
