Currently I have a nas runnign freenas w/ 3 1tb samsung in raid 5 on an adaptec 6 port raid card (dell oem card).

I have it up and running, about 1.7 tb of usable space. So I ordered up 3 more of the same drives.
6 > 3 lol. But I find out afterwards the damn 2tb limit on these cards ugh. Should of reasearched more.

So my question is what should I do w/ these drives?

-I can just attach the 3 drives and build another raid 5, but essentially ill be wasting a drive

-backup my current raid, attach new drives and then build a software raid using freenas, but I doubtful of reliability aand performance.

-or ????

its gonna be used as a media server, but also a ttorrentbox. So my life won't end if I loose anything only a major convenience. And I already burned enough money on this project.
