Well, I have an XP1600+ and I am currently overclocked at 1701mhz at 2.1v. My load temperature is 53'c. How long do you think this CPU will last at this speed and voltage? Will it greatly decrease the life of the CPU?

It could, depending on how you treat it. I would think that it will last longer than you would really need it to be overclocked that far...let me explain this real quick cause I probably confused ya'll. Okay, I am of the opinion that us overclockers can get away with stressing out our components more than the regular person because we are constantly upgrading or improving. That by the time our components would actually fail from wear...we would already be working on the next biggest thing. Thus, it wouldn't be such a big deal, as if you didn't see it coming. But maybe thats just me.

:) nicely said :) thats how i feel to and i just pushed my xp1600+ to 1.85ghz :D not sure on stability so far but it seems if i keep it under 30C (H2O) to be pretty stable

Yes that is what I allways say when asked if I'm shorting the life of my CPUs. They make them so they will last 10 years at stock speed and voltage, so OCed their life gets shortened to 2-3 years. And what were you using 3 years ago?
