Well, I was messing around a week ago or so, and I was kind of determined to get my system running at 166mhz fsb. I had Micron OEM Cas 2.5 memory. The best stable I could do was 153mhz at CAS 2.5. Anyway, so I got this idea to remove ALL the stickers off my memory with nail polish remover. I did that, and now I can run at 168mhz!!!! on OEM MICRON MEMORY AT CAS2 full agressive settings...

I think the stickers keep some of the heat in..

Give it a try.

hmm

I think I may try that when I get home

could you of just maybe moved the mem to a different slot or maybe just pushed thim in a little harder?
how many stickers did you have? I think my crucial only has one as well.

btw
glad to see that you got your wish:)

I used the same slot DIMM1. The I had two stickers on my memory, one was quite big, about 2inches by 1 inch covering 4 chips, and then a single one covering one chip saying "MICRON 266 CAS 2.5 OEM" I removed all of them, and gained the extra speed! sweet!

very nice, that is some true "void-your-warranty" style. Would be nice if there was a way to get the stickers off but be able to replace them for the warranty in case something bad happens...

a dab of good ol' glue wouldn't hurt, if you got the guy on 3rd shift recieving, that stayed up all day long drinking w/ his out of working buddys. :p

ummmmmmmm, maybe the stickers have some hidden properties!!!!

So thats the difference between 2100 and 2700 eh?:D :D

 Strap a Delta on it, you should be able to get more with the voltage up a bit...

I did that the first day I got my memory. So I don't know if it really helps, I suppose I could put the stickers (2 of em) back on and see if it's still stable at the speed I"m running now. I still have the stickers in a safe place in case I need to return the memory.

I've never had anything go bad within the warranty period. It's always the day after that it goes bad.
