Hi Guys,
just finished installing my newly purchased 3 30gb vertex ssd hard drives in raid-0. 128k stripe size.
Im running a Intel Pentium e5200 at 3.4ghz, 4gb ram, Gigabyte Ga-ep45R 3x 30gb vertex ssd (updated firmware to 1.3)
Windows 7 64 bit
Just installed windows, installed ati drivers, and moved page files to other hard drive. disabled caching.

The more ive looked around, the more this looks like raid-0 with 2 drives, not 3. Anyone think so to? any ideas how to boost the performance?

Your Reads are great...your writes are a low though...have you done all of the cache tweaks and such?

They are both lower then they should be. People with 2 drives are getting similar results.
I did all the tweaks. Im now trying to figure out how to use wiper so that i can refresh the install

No tweaks really. Just enabled write back cache.

at those speeds you are likely held back by the raid controller
at those speeds you are likely held back by the raid controller
i dont think so, cause ive been on other forums and guys on ich9r boards are getting much better results.
Problems solved!!
Up top are the new and improved test scores! What you think?

Very nice. How did you end up fixing the problem. Nice setup. Are you using rubber bands.

it handily crushes a 3 raptor array :(

now this is what i need to get. I put 6 raptors in an array and i was greatly disappointed. Time to make a switch to SSD.

You get 7.9 on your hard disk score in windows 7?

I believe the problem was that one of the drives had not been wiped clean and was effecting the performance of the raid. I flashed each drive with a jumper back to 1.1 firmware, then flashed to 1.3 and installed everything.
Yes i am using rubber bands. Work like a charm.

edit:
the reason i posted was because i just tried that crysal hd benchmark, and was dissapointed with what i saw!
and my array only gets a 6.3...
booooooo
thats pretty good
must be noisy
Here is what windows has to say about my pc:

Whats with this odd scoring system? why is it 1 to 7.9? why not 8? or better yet 0 - 10?

its rather easy. go to the ocz product website. On the left hand side are iso's you can download and burn to cd. Once burned, restart pc, change boot order so cd's boot. Then type in fwupdate and follow instructions. Done in under 10 seconds

Try FC-test (http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/storage/display/fc-test.html#sect3) and IOMeter

As tre are more numbers constantly being added, and what the numbers mean in performance from a 5 to a 6 meant that probably nothing could hit a 8-10 anyway for the next year or so. It is only a basic thing for the everyday user, and not really useful as a benchmark. My GTX295 scores a tad higher than a single HD4850 on my laptop???

Can you post the disk metrics from WEI:

Here is mine for comparison:

I was very surprised to find how much of a difference a RAID controller can make. Can not even imagine what would happen if the ARECA was paired up with the Vertex SSDs. Project for a rainy day, which there have been a lot of in NY as of late. :screwy:

Wow that is sick... I need to get my hands on some SSDs
Im planning on doing sound recording/mixing. Would I be best served with 3 logical drives based off of 6 or more physical drives in raid? One for OS, one for music recording/mixing software, one for sound libraries and media, etc
