My phone's documentation, written in 2008, says it supports up to 8GB in the expansion slot. However, there's no mention of SDHC. Does anyone know if an 8GB micro SD card ever existed or would I be fine with any 8GB micro SDHC card?

8GB card confirmed to be working fine with the phone. However, the micro sd adapter doesn't want to work with my sd card reader (not detected)..

Your SD card reader doesn't support SDHC then. As xtkxhom3r pointed out (though 2GiB short), was that all SD cards (normal, Micro, Mini, whatever) over 4GiB are by default a SDHC card. If I remember correctly, I believe this is because the FAT32 format used on the cards only support up to a 4GiB partition. Any larger capacity requires a different drive format, which means that unless the reader/writer supports the higher capacity format, it will be unable to use it.

Defintely not hte case there.

FAT32 supports a max of 4GB file size I think....unless I am too drunk to think straight I think 2TB is the max for Fat32...

ninja edit: 8TB I am wrong :p
