I want to verify that this card:
GeForce 8600 GTS (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130394)
is able to fit into a PCI slot. I am consulting a friend and don't want to be wrong. :D
no.. that will not work in a PCI slot..
It requires a PCI-E x16 slot.
For PCI choose something from this page (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010380048+1069609642&QksAutoSuggestion=&Configurator=&Subcategory=48&description=&Ntk=&CFG=&SpeTabStoreType=&srchInDesc=)

They are very different slots and they will not work, not even if you cut it.

PCI slot GPUs havent been in manufacture for many many years (I think). My old P3 didnt have a AGP slot and back then we had to get a PCI (Not PCIE) instead and it took forever and finally we found a ATI 9000 that was PCI not AGP.

Good to know. That's what I had pretty much figured. :D
Post #2 in this thread has a link to pages of PCI GPUs
