The old BH6 (uses the BX chipset) was a great classic back in it's day, but the Abit BE6 is a better slot 1 mobo. Some of the early BH6 boards only had a 1/3 max PCI divider. They are a good mobo for older Celerons, but for the newer 100 FSB CPUs, personally, I might pick a different board to use. I've seen BH6 boards sell for $25 too.

That's about the right asking price for that board, but it has limitations... I wouldn't bother...

Is he selling you the chip and the motherboard or only the motherboard? I'd just save me another 20-30 dollars and get me a better modern board.

you will have best OC results with the ST-6 or the TUSL-2C...the MSI 815EPT is a fast board but not a great overclocker...it also has integrated video

I've heard that the TUSL2 and the ST6 boards are good and I know that the VH6T also supports Tualatin, but it is a Via chipset board, which some people shy away from. Of those 3, I guess that I would pick the ST6, seems to be a little more overclock-friendly from what I have read. I have no personal experience with these boards so my opinions are based on reading posts by people that are using them. As far as the Epox and MSI boards, I don't know anything about them. Hope this helps you out.

hmm.. yeah, the st6 seems nice indeed.. but if i go for this one.. what does it have? udma 100 support, 4xagp, free fsb selection between 100 > 150, good vcore adjustments, dividers, mem settings etc etc? does someone have this who can tell me a bit more or is there some1 out there thats just knowledged ? :) thx alot!!

I'm pretty sure it has all the stuff you just mentioned. It also has a 1/4 pci divider, but no 1/5 pci divider so after you get past about 155-160 fsb, you might have problems with pci devices.

allrighty then :)) *real happy now* i think its gonna be the st6! and this baby will support tualatin to i guess? :)
if someone uses this board, i would be very happy if u told me a bit more info about vcore options, mem timings, fsb etc . :)) thx

There are several people using the ST6 board here. I imagine that 1 of them will pop in here sooner or later and fill you in on the particulars with that board. I would probably have bought it myself if I hadn't found out about the Gigabyte GA-6OXET boards right before I decided to buy a new P3 board.

The only disadvantages to the ST6 is that it only supports 512MB ram total. Also never cared for highpoint controllers.

The advantage goes to the Intel chipset.

The VH6T supports 1.5GB ram and has excellent ATA100 controllers. Does have a VIA chipset, never been a problem with this board for me (and I used a sb live with it).

The advantage goes to the memory support and controller.

neither support 1/5 dividers, but not too many overclocks, especially with the celeron tualatin cores, make it that high anyways ;)

You'd probably be pleased with each.

I have an Abit SA6 (with RAID) which is exactly the same as the ST6, except the ST6 supports Tualatin whereas my older SA6 does not. The ST6 has all those listed features you want. It's very stable and a great overclocker. The only complaint I've heard from folks is that the voltage settings don't go up as high as they would like. But, you can always do the ol' VID pin wire wrap trick. That's what I did with my P-III and SA6 combo and it works great.

The 815 boards are generally limited to 512Mb RAM although there is no Windows OS that takes advantage of more than 512 anyway and I've never ran into a situation where 256 was not enough for me

I'd take the ST6 out of the menu.

It has alot of overclocking options, support for the Tualatin and it is one heck of a board.
