I got Sacred 2 today since I enjoyed the first one, and an internet connection is required to activate the game...guess I missed that in the fine print...lol
I only have internet on one computer in my house, mobile broadband from Verizon, so it seems I'm outta luck.
Any way to activate without internet?
Thanks.

Most of the time you only need to activate once online. If you can get the machine you want to play on to an internet connection, you should be fine. Could you move the wireless internet adapter to your gaming PC just once to activate it? Could you set up internet connection sharing on your machine with the internet connection and use a router to connect the gaming machine? If not you may have to take it over to a friend's house or somewhere with a public internet connection to activate it. Otherwise, you could call tech support and see if they have any other options.

No...The adapter is a PC Card in a laptop, and of course no PC Card slot on my Desktop. I should prolly get a USB hub and the USB model of the adapter for the laptop for situations like this.

Only if the laptop had built in wireless capabilities, that probably would've worked.

I might be able to get it to a friend's house with cable 2.5 hours away...most people in my area have 56k.

This seems like my best option before I decide to drive a total of 5 hours just to activate a game, not to mention the cost of gas when driving at 15 mpg.
I just don't seem to be a very good situation...lol
Thanks for the help.

I doubt you will need broadband to activate (probably to play it though)
You can contact the game maniufacturer too they may have a downloadable too for activation (I believe rockstar did something wierd like that for GTAIV).

Yeah 56K should do if you can more easily get your hands on that.

You were right, you aren't allowed to mention it, allude to it, or otherwise discuss warez related items. - IMOG

Not completely sure you are allowed to infer that method either.
That aside, usually there is a way to your game activated without an internet connection, you just have to call up their support and explain your situation.

You can't mention that....
Any connection will work to get the activation. Might take a little bit but it will go through. Or the other option since more and more games are requiring it, is to connect your PC to your laptop and setup ICS (Internet Connection Sharing).
So you can surf the web or activate items via your main PC without the hassle of lugging it around to get it activated. Now and in the future.
