Hi all.
I have all the components for a computer beside the case. My question is. What do I do to power it up? I have no switch because there is no case....
Thanks...

You can either pop the switch out of the case and use it plugged into where it would normally go, or you can use a metal object (screwdriver, key, coin etc) to touch both of the pins (at the same time) that the switch would plug into.
All the switch on the case does is short the two pins together as long as the switch is depressed. (called a momentary switch)

Diggrr gots it. Just make sure you know which two pins are the power pins, and short them together for a second. Usually jumper designations are silkscreened on the mobo.

Ok, I'll try that later. Thanks...

the screwdriver trick works. i was turning my pc on like that for months before i finally put in back in the case and actually hooked up the button recently.

I used the screwdriver too, it worked like a charm! :)

Screwdrivers work but if you have a spare jumper around you also can use that by sliding it on a little.

yea but why slide the jumper on? wouldn't you have to take it right back off?

radio shack has fairly cheap momentary switchs...i bought a atx switch at a computer show for like $1.00 so if one' in town you might find a cheap one there. Or if all else fails get something that will slide over the pins(something like a speaker connect MIGHT work dunno though. then attach some wire and whenever you want to boot up toucht he two wires together briefly as if you were jacking a car. :D Something I've never done btw, but I ahve had to hotwire my 69 mustang once cuz i lost my keys.
