Hi all I was gettinga nasty crash on my system total hard lock then a bluescreen that ststed I had a driver in a continus loop.And windows was shutting down.Then bam it would reboot.

See sig I was like oh my god what is doing this.So I checked my logs and the damn zonealarm had truevector errors like mad.

Any one ever have this happen to them ?

Any one know a good firewall that works with XP that is not from zonelabs ??

I had that same problem with the true vector problem.....Thing is, I dont think this is an XP specific issue as I got this problem using Win 98se.

I reinstalled Windows and reinstalled ZoneAlarm Pro and all was fine after that.

Try Tiny Personal Firewall IMO it's better than ZA because u have more control over applications. ZA seems to automate everything but when things don't go right ur stuck that way.

I've had similar problems, but only on oc'd computers- if the oc is a little too aggressive: it seems to loop the true vector stuff badly. Bumping the oc down one notch seems to cure it.

I THINK it is caused by ide errors of some sort; fairly minor because nothing else is usually affected, except zonealarm.

Can you explain IDE errors ??

I dont see any in the log but what exactly do you mean.

Everytime I have gotten that looping true vector failure I've been trying to increase my oc: as an example, this rig, last night-

@150 fsb I can't post
@148 I post and crash
@147 I get ide 0 timed out failures and zonealarm goes nuts, although the system operates (without usb 50% of the time)
@146 I get zonealarm going nuts
@145 I am stable with no problems at all.

I equate all the problems with the ide/hard drive because I had this system @150 fsb before (with different HDD) and the errors I see.

Whether it is actually the ide controller or drive I am not certain.

Your situation may be different, but if you have your fsb cranked up, it may be too high- try backing it down a bit just to see.

Well at stock it did this as well.No other issues at all except true vector.

Xp firewall is ok,And norton firewall is OK.At any fsb setting so I canned z alarm

You might want to try this to see if it clears the TrueVector problem.
