I think the thread said it all. My Athlon XP is running totally stable right now at 1410 Mhz. My cooler is a Thermaltake Volcano 6cu running at exactly 4891 rpm. The temerature is 34°C and the Vcore is 1,76 Volt.
So here is the question. Anyone having the same or similar components and can tell me how far I can go without burning anything? I am just kinda scared that after some Burn6 my PC might never start up again. Is this likely to happen by the way?

Yeah you got me... Newbie :D

Help me anyway please

welcome to the forums

how far you can go depends on several diffrent things, the actual processor, cpu cooling, case airflow, air temp in the case, ect. there is no one certian rule about how far one can go. moniter temps and you shouldnt have a problem, just go for slow increases.

Good luck

Thank you cjlax5 !
Hmm...
I can tell you the airflow in my sytem is very fine ;)
Well. I just started overclocking today cause my old cooler (Coolermaster EP5-6H51) SUCKED very much. My normal operation temperature in idle mode was 43°C. That made overclocking a bad idea at all!
Now the Volcanoe with Arctic Silver II has a idle temp of 32°C at 1410 Mhz.
So what are the temperatures I should better not mess with? Is everything less than 40°C a sure deal?
