Soldier of Fortune 1.06 in 98me...

I installed SOF 1.03 from the disk onto my friend's computer (running 98ME) and it worked fine. As soon as I patched it to 1.06 (gold) the game stopped working (wouldn't even boot the game).

Anyone encounter this? Anyone have a solution. Thanks.


PS. We know 98me sucks and sof is old, still be nice to play. thanks.

i dont know that version of w98, what is that me?
you might want to update it to the version 1.07 platinum, that is a no more than 6MB file. will fix a lot of thing and it will be needed to play using the multiplayer mode.
try updating it to the version 1.07 and if it still doesnt work you can try removing the file config.cfg that is into the user folder and let the game to generate a new one for u. just remove it and run the game. back it up for the case you need it.
if nothing works remove the game, reinstall it and run once, then you patch it with the gold and the platinum updates and only then try running the game again.
