Well here's the problem:
I was messin with my moms rig today and tried to push it to the max.
The rig is as following:
CUSL2
C633(cB0),default V=1.65V
192MB Micron PC133
IBM 20g 5400
ASUS tnt2 TVR 32MB
Sb PCI128
AOPen HQ45-25oW
fop32
............................................
I entered BIOS and immediately set my ratios to 100/100/33.
No post @ all
raised the voltage even to 1.9V ...u guess no dang POST!
I'm pretty much confused cuz while checkin the PCDB i saw that average OC is almost 1GHz ..

then i set the ratio to 66/100/33 and i can push it around 800-820MHz but PCI is too high 41-42 and i won't use it @ that speeds cuz it's way outta specs..

Is it that i just have a bad luck with that chip or what?
Any suggestions?What am i missin?

p.s.
Now i really see how good is my PIII933@1085(cD0) @ stock voltage 1.75V it ROCKS:)

Hmmm.

Sometimes PSU can be a problem as it is very low for coppermine usually 300watt minimum for coppermine. My C566 @ 850 had 5v rails problems I guess and wouldn't post alot of the time.

I think it's not i checked all pins with voltmeter and all lines are ok(@least in or around normal ratings )
And its AOpen 250W so that shouldn't b the problem and there are not many devices in that rig.
What next Yodu?

Thats the basic thing I can only think of, nothing in your system seems to be low for the configuration. I don't know how good the cB0 633 Clocked but for a fact I know the cC0 clocked real good to 1.1 with good cooling which you have. How about airflow? :D

Well i think that's not the problem cuz it won't even post ..gggrrrr the dang thing muahahhaha
Like i said i think it would b too good to have luck with every chip bought...aaahh:confused:  :burn:

Well because it may not post because of the PSU thats the only thing coming to my head now :D

Well i'll measure the voltages again, and after that i'll switch PSUs.Then i'll try again...i will let ya know what happened wish me luck ;)

try burning in for a few days...also are you using thermal paste?

of course i am...i usually have nice O/C results but this chip is really $(r3w3d up.But i won't quit till it's dead or "high"!
It is now ME or HIM
And Deez what do you mean by "burning in" ?I don't quite understand what are u refering to.Can you please explain it to me a little bit maybe i know what it is but it's just my bad english..
thx
:D :D :D

Well looks like hes winning because the frustration is getting to you and your really showing it :D

I just tried with my other PSU - same thing i can't make it work with 100MHz FSB.
I'd try that "burn in " thing but i'm not sure what are u referin to ...ah:(

Burn in means to like warm up the chip like your car in the winter it has to be sometimes warmed up or it won't start in this case it won't overclock or something. And eventually after a long burn in you can retrieve a little more speed.

To achive this you can download; Seti (Searching For Extra Terrestrial Intelligence - Aliens ) :D or Folding (Cure Dieseases)

I sort of like the idea of Seti better and it processes work units faster than Folding and I like to compete :D

If you would like to setup Seti heres the link:

thanx man that's what i thought just wanted to make sure that we are thinking on the same thing.
Ialso did very much of burning with that CPU before but it maybe needs a little stress again since it is used by my mother now..hhehehe
Another one about the cars: if one person is drivin it very slow for some time it gets used to that and can't breathe,so i need to push the throttle and reanimate it a bit heheehhe
so let's do some burnin baby
yeah:D :D :D

Maybe you should up CV first, restart and up FSB (I had a problem with that, I needed to boot @ default speed, up CV restart and up FSB).

I doubt that its your PSU, I'm running a PIII600@888 from a 250W PSU (Before I had a 235W PSU and that worked fine, now I'm using both 485W:D ).

Yeah Killo...i agree on that 250 and 300W are more than enough if they are from some good manufacturer(and passed the test) and if they are heavy enough-u know what i mean hehehehe
Few years ago i had some cheap PSU that was rated 400W and its weight was about 300 grams ...when my friend tested it,there wasn't more than 15oW of life in that piece of ....

You should VID pin the Vcore rather than use the BIOS to up the voltage. The i815 chipset is known to have issues when altering the Vcore in BIOS because it will apply the default Vcore initially rather than the BIOS Vcore.

That sounds good to me
Thanx 4 the tip.

Ok...want to hear my experience?

Same chip 633 cB0
Asus Black Pearl

No post at all 100/100/33...even at 2.0vcore
At default vcore goes up to 90mhz fsb @855 manual setting
from the dipp switches.

The same chip on a MSI 6309 (via chip) went up to 95mhz fsb @902 1.75vcore.

So nothing wrong with your system or your settings.....its just the
chip....(dont know what will do with vid pin)

hehehe that's funny i think that neither my CUSL2 or CUSL2-CB(Black Pearl) don't love celeron...i can overclok my two PIIIs 933(cDo) on both boardz with stock 1.75 V to 160 FSB unbelieveable...hahahaha

Actually, have you tried running with just a single stick of memory? That could be another potential problem that no one has mentioned yet. Another is that it could be your PCI divider is set wrong for the FSB you want to run at, and is causing your PCI cards to run out of spec.

Well 100/100/33 would make it perfect spec though but 83fsb is dangerous :D

hmmm...to be honest i didn't try that. Why do you think it could cause problems to have more than one stick in my dimms?
Like Yodu said PCI is just fine.
