Tear, she's dead

So i come home yesterday and i smell a distinct smell coming from my computer. well, it looks as if my mobo has kicked the bucket. now im in the market for a new mobo, but i dont wanna spend alot of money as im trying to save for my i7 rig. i had a dfi LP x38, any suggestions on something comparable as far as reliability and OC? i havent really payed attention to mobo's since i got her all set up.
