Mobo: GigaByte-EX58-Extreme
CPU: Intel Core i7 920
Case: Coolermaster HAF-932
PSU: Corsair TX 750W

Looking to overclock CPU to 4GHz. This machine will be used to host virtual machines - CPU/RAM performance are key, GPU is irrelevant since it will never be loaded.

Trying to put a cooling loop together which is good quality, but sensibly priced. Shopping list so far....

XSPC Dual Bay Reservoir
Laing DDC 18w Revision 3.25 Pump
XSPC Laing DDC Pump Acrylic Top V3
Heatkiller CPU Block LGA1366 Copper
Swiftech MCR320 Triple Radiator
YateLoon D12-SL12 Fans x 3
MasterKleer 7/16" ID tubing

Also thinking of fitting a Corsair Dual Fan RAM cooler.

Is this list fit for purpose?

Looks like a great loop to me. There are a couple personal tweaks I'd make, but it's just IMHO: 1. ditch the bay res & use an XSPC res top...makes filling and maintenance all that much easier. 2. Invest in a fan controller and get high-speed yates in lieu of the low speed models. That way you'll have the CFM if you ever need it. If you get low speed, you're stuck there with no upward mobility.

Even if you ignore both of those though, it's a very nice loop!

Your setup looks fine. I had my i7 overclocked 4.13 and my load temp top at 70C the most. Here is my setup which is very similar to yours:

Swiftech GTZ, NB-MAX, MCR-220, MCP-655.

I'm also using Masterkleer of the same size.

OP, depending on the the configuration of your loop the bayres is a fine choice. I've got one high-mounted and it performs its design functions, effortless fill-and-bleed, coolant reserve, visual indication of flow (and of course bling), quite well. A res top isn't a bad choice either, but it mostly acts as a pump performance enhancement. As far as the HK, if you can, don't by the LC. It's machined to a lower standard than the Cu and LT, so it doesn't perform as well.

Otherwise you're fine. Good luck! ;)
