I was talking to some kid in my class and I told him I had just bought a new Raedon 8500 64mb, and he told me his dad was at a computer show in Onatario, Canada and bought a 128 MB Nvidia card. Now this is the first ive heard of a 128 mb card (besides the voodoo 6 that was never released) but my first reaction was that he is lying but then I thought id get some fact behind this before i call him a lier.
So does nvidia have a 128 MB card?
Thanks
Hmmm, yes the upcoming cards are 128 DDR although they don't release for another 2-3 months make him send you the screen shots.
There aren't even really good drivers for the GF4 anyways :D

The Nvida Geforce 3's with 128 mb of memory are out NOW, Gainward are one such company selling this product ( I have one on its way ) and they cost less than you would think (even here in the UK )

I believe this is the Gainward Ti 550 you are talking about..wait i just looked at the link, maybe not then
the best card out now is the Gainward Ti 550:
This card beat the Ti 500 range hands down, but it is only slightly better than the Ati Radeon 8500
it costs £300 in the uk, probably around $300 in the US then, as we are ripped off

S3 has a 128 meg card based on the 315 chipset. Its a nice card, but as with anything good in this day and age doesn't like the VIA chipset and will only report and utilize 64 of its 128 meg making it utterly worthless.
Now if I can just pry that 440BX chipset on my BP-6 out of my wifes cold hands then I may have something worth while.

It's cost me £220 for my Gainward G3 with 128 mb of memory in the sunny UK. It is 300 euro's and we don't have to use these yet.
Gainward state on the website that this product is the "GeForce3 PowerPack !!! Ti/500 "Jumbo" "Golden Sample" 128 MB super-fast DDR, Video-out, GPU GeForce3 TI-200"
So even though they call it a TI/500 it does actually have the TI/200 GPU (I will have mine this week and clarify the situation as to what drivers it uses when I can)

The price i quoted was for the new Ti550 not for the Ti200 with 64mb extra memory

The new TI 500 according to Gainwards site only comes with 64mb of memory, with the TI 500 being the only 128mb card

When you remember that the Titanium cards are just Geforce 3's with a faster clock speed, I can not help but ask the question is the TI/500 so much better than the TI/200 in real terms once the overclocker gets his hands on it ??
I think it will personally be very interesting to see how a 128 mb TI/200 will compare to a 64 mb TI/500 based graphic card.

I could find nowhere on the Gainward site that stated that the memory in the Gainward GeForce3 PowerPack !!! Ti/550 XP runs at 550 mhz and a email to them only obtained the statement "we can not comfirm that the memory in this card is capable of running at 550 mhz even though it uses super fast DDR"
where did you get the information from that stated the memory was running at that speed

i could be wrong here but in the original question it was about a 128 meg nvidea card i think the kid saying his dad bought the card and while looking at the specs he got confused becouse gf3 cards use a 128mb aperature. not memory currently.

The Gainward G3Ti/550 runs at 500mhz. The 550 is just a marketing ploy implying the card will do at least 550mhz.
I have one:)
