Hi!

Iīve got a big problem with my P3 800E and the BX 133 Raid.
The problem is, that i canīt go higher than 960MHz (120MHz FSB, 1.75VCore). The CPU does the 960MHz stable in 3D Games like Quake III Arena or Tribes II but if I start Seti@Home the IE freezes and several hours later "dies" the system slow.
The CPU is watercooled and runs @ 29°C.

Next problem is the OCing of this CPU. I tried 1000MHz and 1.8V - does not boot windows. 1.85V does boot windows, but very unstable.
OK, next I tried it with the BE6-II from a friend - and it does work! 1040MHz with 2.1V and 1120MHz (not realy stable) with 2.4V!
damn, Iīve ever got such High Voltage CPUs - My old p3 600E @ 860MHz needed 2.4V to run stable and the 550E @ 781MHz needed 1.9V.
Has annybody some experience with BX133 RAID OCing?
I want more than these 960MHz and I want it stable!

Anny ideas?
THX!

The BE6-II were definitely better in overclocking over the BX133.

Although anything over 2.05v is dangerous but in this case its water cooled...

Try increasing the I/O voltage up abit if you have that option where your ram maybe slacking off or something how about PSU?

I also have a BX133 Raid. I had a p3 700@966 with 2.1v and 138 fsb. It was very stable.

@Yodums

Yeah, I know. BX133 RAID isnīt good for hard-oc.
however, i canīt raise the I/O Voltage over 3.7V -> System becomes unstable. At the BE6-II is this no problem.. I think that is a problem with the voltageregulators at the bx133.

RAM isnīt the problem I think. I use one 128MB Mushkin HSD rev1 (does 143MHz @ CAS 2-2-2-4) and one 128MB CORSAIR (does 170MHz @ 3-3-3-4).

I use one 400W PSU and it does a good job. All powerlines arenīt under or overpowered.
