Need a bit of input

I am trying to figure out if I really should install Myth on my linux box as I do not have any TV tuners installed, I am not really doing anything more then say streaming music and backed up DVDs on it.

What is the benefit of my installing myth or any frontend on this box vs just sticking with the generic Mint desktop?

I would make it a fullblown myth setup if Comcast could figure out why when I plug my cable box in the internet drops out (it isnt a line issue according to them)....

Running a frontend just looks better then say looking at folders. You can have cover art, metadata on the movie and such. All you get with running a mint desktop is a a folder with the name of the movie.

That was about the only benefit I could think of as well Wicked.

Ill probably still look into it, I want to get my cable working solely so I can watch the handful of shows I do watch whenever I plug in my cable box.
