View Full Version : Cele 1.0A or 1.1
Alright I'm gettin itchy for 133 FSb and I think I'm gonna get a cele 1.0A and give it a try unless people have been getting better results with the 1.1

youll have much better luck hitting 133 at default voltage with the 1.0A and it should hit 144-150fsb...
thats pretty much what I figured as most dont seem to be hitting 133FSB with the 1.2's

My 1.1A run rock solid at 130fsb at 1.65v.
I can post and run w98 almost ok all the way up to 138fsb, but
things are just a little shakey there. Tryied cores up to 1.75, but
still some lockups at that speed.
Probably have to slow down my mem timings or something for
that.... I know it aint my PCI/AGP speeds, since I am using
that PLL16 divisor thingy on my XET-C.
6502kid....what mobo are you using for your 1.1A and do you still have the IHS on?

I got it in a Gigabyte 60XET-C board. I havent removed the
IHS or done that wire-trick deal.
I put it at 1.725v, 136fsb and changed the memory timings
to 2-3-3 5/7 and it has been running OK for about an hour
now. Prime95 testing right now.
My load temp has gone up to 36c from 33c now. Hope that
aint too hot.
if your temp is at 36C load that is low...what are using for temp monitoring?
deez:
I'd take the 1.0a there has been numerous posts that its hitting 150fsb with good cooling and the voltage mod.
Some had gotten to 150fsb @ 1.725v.
I'd take the 1.0a over the 1.1 if I was you.
My two cents.
Yodums...yep I think I'm going with the 1.0A ordering at the beginning of next week from newegg
Whoa, you've been on a buying spree this past month or so.
Good Luck w/ the chip your planning to volt mod it right? Ol'Man got his to 1.5 150fsb w/ 1.8v with his cooling so I think you maybe hit 140 fsb probably :D
Not too sure but good luck.s
sorry, double post...how do you delete this?
I just ordered a 1.1a (Phillipines) from Newegg, along with a VH6T...hit 133FSB (1.46G) out of the box with 1.575 vcore and Dynatron HS...

Pretty good for default voltage. Using MotherboardMontior
to meaure the temps. My ASII must have settled a bit.
Load temps only 35c now. Ran UT for about 8 hours
today with no problems.....
What would be too hot for one of these things do you think ?
idle was around 31-33C (in Win98, would've been lower in XP), and 36-38C under load (Prime95 and SuperPi) for about 2 hours...used mobo monitor and BIOS to monitor temps...I am quite impressed with this little monster so far...seems I got a "good" one, retail box, not OEM
takiwa...nice OC...any reason you went with the 1.1 instead of 1.0 or 1.2???
Yodums...I figure after buying the cele I can sell whatever chip I dont want and only lose a couple of bucks
6502kid....41-45C seems to be about the temp limit for most OC'ed Intel chips
price, mainly...I figured the o/c average between the three chips was negligable, and I got the 1.1 for like $10 more than the 1.0a, and $40 cheaper than the 1.2
takiwa...cool...was wondering if you heard anything I didn't about the chip.
EDIT: Ordered my 1.0A today from newegg along with a tube of AS3 --- yep it just came out apparently
oh yeah just to let everybody know I got a retail 1.0A and a 6g tube of AS3 for just over $100 shipped
anybody know how long it takes newegg to process/ship orders after purchase???
All I know is under a week. Check your PM I had a question for you.
newegg is in cali...I'm in ga...everything I've ordered from them (3-day Fed-Ex saver) has arrived within 2-3 days (yes, two packages arrived a day early!). Super company...

I've read all these post ,but whats the difference between the Regulator Celeron and the "A" Celeron Chip..As in 1.0 vs the 1.0A chip ? Example..

the Celeron 1.0 has 128k cache and is based on a .18micron manufacturing process, because of the 128 cache its performance clock/clock is lower than any cpu other than the P4, and because of the .18 micron process people have trouble ocng it past 1.33...
the Celeron1.0A Tualatin has 256 Cache and is based on a .13micron core, because of the 256 cahce it performs as well clock/clock as a PIII/Duron/and in some apps its faster than the Athlons......because of the .13 micron process people have been ocing it to 1.5 and beyond......

I assume you meant that what you ordered from Newegg luckily turned out to be a Phillipine chip, since they only carry retail 1.1a. according to their site. Or did they have an OEM 1.1a when you ordered yours?

This processer is so easy it is unfair.
On Abit VH6T, bump core to a mere 1.525 and set to 133Mhz.
The CPU runs at a whopping 28C....downright COLD to the touch with any decent fan and heatsink.
Rock-stable.

yes, I was lucky, you cannot order a Phillipine chip specifically..that's just what it turned out to be (thank god!). It was retail, in the box w/ a fan...

Yes, it is...:D Someone compared it to a remarked, re-packaged P3 to compete with the Duron/Athlon...I will go one better...This is a P4 re-packaged for a Socket 370 :D ('cept the core is more overclockable...hehe)
I ordered a retail chip so I should know by Friday (hopefully) what I got...will start a new thread with all the details then. I may be out of town this weekend tho' so I might not get to play with it till Mon.
there are many retail phillipine chips as well..... Yeah, but it's less likely for a retail one to be a phillipine chip. Actually I thought it's far less likely, but it's nice to find out that the likelihood is not so low.
